Aesthetic fillings

A smile – your health, success, career, self-confidence, freedom to live, love and work.

Aesthetic dentistry – this is the safest way to achieve an impressive smile.  The dental surgeon doing the aesthetic filling skillfully replaces the missing tooth tissue layer by layer.  To make the restoration work unnoticeable, the dental surgeon has to intuitively feel how to adapt the restorative material to the healthy tooth tissue.  The surgeon's work can be compared to that of an artist or a jeweller as he professionally creates beauty.

The aim of aesthetic filling is to keep teeth vital, without abrading away healthy tissue, so that the teeth appear naturally clear, regular in size and shape, and bright.  The material used for restoration is strong and has properties that make it similar to natural tooth tissue: it is resistant to the force of the muscles used in chewing and to the natural wear suffered by teeth.  The material fuses with the tooth with the same strength that natural tooth tissue has internally, thereby reducing the chances of caries developing.  It is polished to the same sheen as natural enamel, and it also come in the same range of shades.

Aesthetic dentistry is a branch of medicine that unites art and science in the pursuit of better oral hygiene, a sense of well-being and a more attractive smile.  Aesthetic filling is recommended for people whose teeth are affected by decay, discolouring or wear, or in the case of teeth that are misaligned due to natural growth, or a dental trauma that has left them cracked or broken.  Aesthetic filling of molars restores the natural ridges on the chewing surface, which are particularly important for the effectiveness of mastication and the maintenance of a correct bite height.  It also protects teeth from natural wear.

When the highly qualified specialists at our clinic recommend aesthetic orthodontic methods, they first assess the form of the  patient’s face , the colour and shape of their teeth, the alignment of the teeth in the jawbone, what type of fillings are already in place, the quality of the crowns, and their strength.  The tooth:gum ratio is also evaluated (not more than 2 mm of gum should be visible when smiling), the height of the teeth, their width and their relation to the other teeth.  Attention is also paid to the patient’s age and sex and any special requirements that they might have.
Before aesthetic filling can take place, it is essential for a professional oral hygiene process to be done, the purpose of which is to remove plaque and tartar (scale), to stop caries and gum and periodontal diseases from occurring, and to freshen the buccal cavity.  During the professional oral hygiene process scale is removed with an ultrasound scaler, while plaque and tartar is removed using the new “Air Flow” system.

Most often patients start to wear a beautiful, natural smile after only one visit to the Aesthetic Dentistry Clinic.  This is because during each visit about 4-6 teeth are restored: their shape is changed, missing tissue is replaced, the teeth are whitened and straightened to the extent possible, and gaps between teeth are eliminated.  That is why people leave our clinic full of self confidence and smiling broadly.
